Grancrest War: QuartetConflict is an action RPG that continues the story begun in Record of Grancrest War, a popular light novel series (later turned into manga and RPGs) by the genius Ryo Mizuno, author of Record of Lodoss War and Rune Soldier, among other works. The quality of the script is thus a sure thing. In Grancrest War: QuartetConflict you play soldier Theo Cornaro and his wizard friend Siluca Meletes, who are on an epic adventure that'll take them into battle against lords from various kindgoms. That said, although they are the indisputable main characters in this story, you can recruit dozens of others throughout your adventures to help you during combat. The battle system in Grancrest War: QuartetConflict plays out in real time. With your left thumb you move your character around freely and with your right thumb attack and switch between characters. Hold down on the portrait of one of your heroes and you can also do a special attack. Grancrest War: QuartetConflict is an excellent action JRPG offering an alluring cast of characters and an intricate and complex story. Fans of Record of Grancrest War will obviously enjoy it even more, but you don't need to be fully familiar with the backstory to understand what's going on in the game. Special mention for the graphics, with a cell-shading aesthetic that works brilliantly.
