Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (born 1953) is a center-left populist Mexican politician who is the founder and leader of the political party MORENA. He was elected president of Mexico in 2018, becoming the first person in a century not from either the Institutional Revolutionary Party or the National Action Party to win that office. He had run unsuccessfully for president in 2006 and 2012.
