Marilyn Monroe was an American actress, model, and singer, best known for her roles in the films “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” and “Some Like It Hot.” She was born Norma Jeane Mortenson on June 1, 1926, in Los Angeles, California. Monroe’s early life was marked by poverty and instability, and she was eventually put into the care of a foster family. She began her career in show business as a model, and soon became a popular pin-up girl for the U.S. military during World War II. She eventually made her way to Hollywood, where she was signed to a contract with 20th Century Fox. Monroe quickly became a household name, thanks to her blonde hair, curvaceous figure, and sweet, innocent screen persona. She appeared in a number of successful films throughout the 1950s, including “How to Marry a Millionaire” and “The Seven Year Itch.” She was also known for her off-camera life, which was the subject of much speculation and media attention. Monroe was married three times during her life, to James Dougherty, Joe DiMaggio, and Arthur Miller. She also had a number of high-profile relationships, including with Frank Sinatra andϊ Robert Kennedy. Monroe died on August 5, 1962, at the age of 36, from an overdose of barbiturates. Her death was ruled a probable suicide, but it remains one of Hollywood’s most enduring mysteries. Despite her tragic end, Monroe’s legacy lives on. She is still considered one of the greatest sex symbols of all time, and her films continue to be celebrated for their timeless wit and charm. Her iconic style and screen presence continue to inspire generations of actresses and fans alike.
