As a descendant of the famed Belmont family, you must vanquish an assortment of dark creatures to save the world from an insidious curse. Gabriel Belmont must explore more than 50 stages, each viewed from a third-person perspective, using over 40 possible combo attacks to defeat his enemies. To progress, you'll need to swing across chasms, climb walls, rappel down cliffs, and overcome various dangers lurking within the gothic ruins, castles, forests, swamps, and tundra making up the game's Southern Europe setting. Gabriel will rely on daggers, holy water, and a multi-functional combat cross to repel his supernatural foes. A retractable chain whip is housed within the cross, allowing Gabriel to swing from ledges and to attack enemies from afar. Throughout your travels, you'll solve puzzles to unlock new items, battle large-scale bosses, and harness the power of magic.
