A TV anime adaptation of Iori Miyazawa's sci-fi yuri novel series Urasekai Picnic (Otherside Picnic) was announced by Hayakawa Shobo on Thursday. Synopsis Her first encounter with Toriko Nishina was on the Otherside after seeing "that thing" and nearly dying. Ever since that day, exhausted university student Sorawo Kamikoshi's life changed. In this Otherworld, full of mystery, which exists alongside our own, dangerous beings like the Kunekune and Hasshaku-sama that are spoken of in real ghost stories appear. Toriko Nishina: Ai Kayano (Chihayafuru 3) Felix Film and LIDENFILMS are co-producing the anime series, with Takuya Satou (Fragtime, Asagao to Kase-san.) handling both the direction and series composition. Miyazawa published the first volume in February 2017 with illustrations by shirikaba. Hayakawa Bunko shipped the fourth volume in December 2019. Eita Mizuno began serializing a manga adaptation in monthly Shounen Gangan magazine in February 2018. Square Enix will publish the fourth compiled volume on March 12. J-Novel Club licensed the novel in English last July for digital release. The third volume is planned for an April 12 release.
