R Vaishali became India's 84th chess grandmaster at the IV El Llobregat Open in Spain after she crossed 2500 ELO rating points. Vaishali is grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa's sister and the duo has become the first GM duo. Vaishali is the third woman to become GM from India.
