The Church of Pentecost and the management of Pentecost Hospital – Tarkwa have officially cut the sod for the construction of a new ultra-modern hospital at Wood Village in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality. This marks a major milestone in the hospital’s mission to expand healthcare access and improve service delivery in the region.
Pentecost Hospital – Tarkwa, which currently serves over 47,000 people under the Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG), continues to grow as demand for quality medical care increases. The new facility at Wood Village is expected to feature expanded wards, a modern theatre, diagnostic and laboratory units, maternity and paediatric departments, and emergency care services.
The project aims to reduce the need for patients to travel long distances for specialized treatment and to enhance healthcare outcomes in Tarkwa and nearby communities. It also reflects the Church of Pentecost’s broader vision of combining faith with practical social impact through health and community development.
Following the sod-cutting, the next stages will include design, construction, and stakeholder collaboration. The hospital encourages community support and engagement as it works to bring this vision to life—a project that stands as a symbol of hope, compassion, and progress for the Tarkwa area.
